Are you considering purchasing an RV? Are you trying to decide between a Motorhome and a Travel Trailer? This can be a tough decision to make. This article can help you decide! We will go over some of the pros and cons of both the motorhome and the travel trailer.
Let's start with going over some of the pros of purchasing a Motorhome. One of the great benefits of the motorhome is for the people in it who are not driving. While traveling the non drivers can be comfortable, use the bathroom and so on. Please note it is recommended that passengers stay seated with belts on. Typically motorhomes are easier to move and setup. They come with self-leveling jacks so you don't have to block wheels, etc. You can also tow vehicles behind the motorhome for use when you reach your destination.
One major con of a motorhome is when you need to have repair work done, their goes your home! Another major con is the expense! A motorhome is as a rule more expensive than a travel trailer even when you factor in that you need a vehicle to tow a travel trailer. There is also less living space in a motorhome and they depreciate faster than a travel trailer. You also may want to consider that if you are towing a vehicle behind a motorhome you can not back up.
As far as travel trailers go there are several pros. As mentioned previously they are less expensive than motorhomes and they tend to hold value longer. There is also more available living space in a travel trailer. Another benefit is the fact that you have to have another vehicle to tow it; you can use that vehicle once you reach your destination. Another pro would be the fact that repairs are not typically done to the travel trailer, just the tow vehicle so you still have a place to live.
There are also several cons in dealing with travel trailers to consider. You have to constantly be dealing with hitching and unhitching the trailer. Depending on the length of the trailer it may be difficult to find parking places, etc. You may also have to have a large vehicle to tow your travel trailer, and you may not like to use such a large vehicle once you have reached your destination.
There are many things to consider when purchasing an RV. Hopefully this article will help you to make an informed decision! Happy traveling!
